Human Hormones

The human endocrine system produces the vital hormones necessary to regulate the human body’s plethora of functions. Hormones are necessary to control, signal, and coordinate the body’s nervous system, digestion, reproduction, liver, kidneys, pancreas, and fat cells.

These functions can be categorized as:

  • Regulation of Physiological Energy Levels
  • Reproductive System
  • Growth and Maturation
  • Homeostasis
  • Response to Environmental Stress and Injury

The endocrine system is comprised of a vast network of organs and glands that create, store, and distribute vital hormones into the blood stream. Hormones are specific chemicals produced by a cell group that influence various tissues in the organs of our body.

Endocrine glands manufacture vital hormones that are used inside the organs of the human body. Different glands produce substances such as the saliva in our mouths which reach the outside of our body’s. Our endocrine glands are like pharmaceutical labs that produce the hormones necessary for our bodies to function and release them as they are needed. The blood stream carries these necessary hormones to the organs and tissues that require them to remain healthy. To function properly our body needs a healthy gland system and a healthy blood stream to deliver the vital hormones to their appropriate location in the body.

When the endocrine system has problems with functionality a variety of excesses or shortages can results in unbalanced levels of specific hormones causing a variety of unwanted symptoms. There can be problems with specific receptor sites in organs that impede the hormones from reaching the designated organ. Certain hormones naturally decline with age and produce symptoms commensurate with aging and ultimately death.

Here at COSTA HGH & TESTOSTERONE CLINIC we focus on optimizing two important hormones. Human growth hormone HGH or somotropin and testosterone.

Human growth hormone HGH is produced in the anterior pituitary gland. At the age of 25 the production of HGH by the pituitary gland begins to decline slowly and gradually. By the time we reach middle age these lowered levels of human growth hormone HGH are manifested by a variety of symptoms. Some of these symptoms are looser skin, thinner skin, declines in bone density, longer rates of recovery and slower healing as well as declines in metabolic rate. When we are in our early twenties our HGH levels measured by a factor called IGF – 1, are about 350. When we are in our fifties this factor declines to a range of 120 – 150.

Testosterone ( in males ) is produced in the testicles and production begins to decline when males reach age thirty. The declines are gradual and by the time we reach middle age our levels can be noticeably lower than when we were thirty. Males in their fifties will show total testosterone levels ranging from a low of 300 – 700. Typical symptoms of lowered testosterone levels are declines in energy, stamina, loss of muscle mass and definition, and declines in sex drive. When we are in our late twenties are total testosterone levels are about 1200.

Hormone replacement therapy utilizing human growth hormone HGH and testosterone is the core service of the COSTA HGH & TESTOSTERONE CLINIC.
